It was moved by Councillor Harden, duly seconded by Councillor Williams and

Resolved:

1.         “That the Council in pursuance of the powers conferred upon them by statute admit to being an honorary Freeman of the Borough of Dacorum (the most honourable distinction which it is their privilege to bestow)

Max Whitlock

In appreciation and acknowledgement of his continuing sporting achievements: winner of Gold medals in the Commonwealth Games, European and World Championships and culminating in his most recent success, two Gold Medals at the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, Rio 2016; and in recognition of the very significant contribution he has made to sport and the wider community; for the tremendous inspiration he provides and the example set to the young people of the Borough of Dacorum.”

2.         That the Council direct that the Common Seal of the Dacorum Borough Council be affixed to a framed copy of this Resolution and presented to him.”
