St. Margarets Way is an allocated housing
scheme, which DBC Development are currently progressing through the
design stages.
There are four bed sit units, 23-26 St. Margaret’s Way, which
also sit within the allocated housing site. These units are in
disrepair and could potentially form part of a greater development
of the site, as proposed by our architect.
Only one bed sit has been sold, 23 St. Margarets Way, and we have
engaged with the leaseholder to purchase through our appointed
consultant, Braiser Feeth.
All other bedsits are owned and managed by DBC.
The wider site still remains to be purchased from the General Fund
to the Housing Revenue Account.
To seek approval of the purchase of 23 St.
Margarets Way, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP2 4PA
Option 1 - DBC do not purchase bedsit and have
to maintain all 4 properties which will be an eye-sore on new St.
Margarets Way development.
Option 2 - DBC miss a unique opportunity to develop this area in
conjunction with the SMW development. It would be more cost
effective to develop new units at this time than in the
future.
Option 3 - More money will be lost over time to maintain four
bedsits in a poor condition, rather than building new homes as part
of the SMW development.
