As part of the Council’s Fleet
Replacement programme, there are 2 Commercial Loading Shovels and 2
Telescopic Loaders which need to be replaced over the next 4 years.
The timescales for these replacements are as follows:
Commercial Loading Shovels:
April 2018 to March 2019 – Quantity one (1)
April 2021 to March 2022 – Quantity one (1)
Large Wheeled Telescopic Loader:
April 2018 to March 2019 – Quantity one (1)
April 2021 to March 2022 – Quantity one (1)
The above replacements are included within the Council’s
Capital Programme.
To award a 4 year agreement to Greenshields
JCB Limited to supply 2 Commercial Loading Shovels and 2 Large
Wheeled Telescopic Loaders over the next 4 years.
The current machinery is in need of
replacement. The Council could run the machines on however this
would increase the time the machines are off the road and increase
the revenue implications for repairs. On that basis, replacing the
machines are the best option.
